American Idol Top 5 segment aired on April 29, 2008. This week, it's songs by Neil Diamond. Diamond called him a kind of a prodigy and predicted that he will do well on the night of his performance. The judges are to give their comments after the contestants finished both songs.

Simon Cowell: Well David, that was a smart choice of song, I've got to hand it to you. That was clever. It ticked all the boxes. All the right choices - checked, checked, checked.
